THE Times bestowed the Emergency/Disaster Management Award to Balabagan, Lanao del Sur, which has a very proactive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The municipality of Balabagan holds regular simulation drills in schools and in every barangay or village. It also actively participates in a weekly radio program of the Office of the Civil Defense-ARMM.
