ERC urged to order distribution utilities to enforce 'no disconnection policy'

SEN. Sherwin Gatchalian called on the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to direct other distribution utilities (DUs) to replicate the move by Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) which suspended all disconnection activities within its franchise areas under lockdown

Gatchalian, chairman of the Senate Energy Committee, likewise renewed his call to concerned authorities, particularly the local government units (LGU), to allow the continued conduct of onsite meter readings to ensure the accuracy of consumers' electric bills.
