THE Philippine Army has temporarily relieved the commander of the battalion involved in the misencounter that resulted in the deaths of six policemen and wounding of nine others.

Maj. Gen. Raul Farnacio, commander of the Army’s 8^th Infantry Division (ID), said that Lt. Col. Arnel Floresca, commander of the 87^th Infantry Battalion, was relieved from his post pending results of an ongoing investigation into the mistaken clash in Samar on Monday.
