CORON, Palawan: Located 250 nautical miles away from both the ports of Puerto Princesa and Manila, the Port of Coron is buzzing with more activity than usual. These days, apart from the steady stream of passenger and cargo vessels coming in and out of the port, an ongoing P158 million reclamation project funded by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is adding to the bustle.

Last year, the port of Coron served 250,000 passengers as fast craft vessels from Montenegro Shipping Lines and Philippine Malaysian Fast Craft began docking last year. The figure is bound to increase, especially as Coron and the rest of Palawan are attractive alternatives to the recently shut blockbuster destination of Boracay ppa photo
