MARAWI CITY: Five members of the Islamic State (IS)-inspired Maute terrorist group were killed during an ongoing “Operation Contra” of the military in the towns of Pagayawan and Tubaran, Lanao del Sur.
Col. Romeo Brawner Jr., deputy commander of the Joint Task Force Ranao (JTFR), said the five unidentified members of the Moro group were killed during an encounter with government troops in Tubaran. No casualties were reported on the side of the military.
