THE low pressure area (LPA) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) may develop into a tropical depression and would be named “Domeng” when it enters Philippine territory, the state-run weather bureau said on Monday.

“The LPA may develop into a tropical depression within 24 to 48 hours. It will be named ‘Domeng’ when it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but the likelihood of a landfall is very small,” said Sheilla Reyes, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
