Rain, cloudy skies as schools open on Monday--Pagasa

STUDENTS going back to school on Monday can expect rain and cloudy skies because of a low pressure area (LPA) and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state-run weather bureau said on Sunday.

“Our latest analysis shows that the combined effects of the ITCZ and the LPA will bring cloudy skies with occasional rainshowers over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao [on Monday],” Vicente Malano, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) administrator, said in a statement.
