Human Rights education, training slated in Bulacan

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and National Press Club of the Philippines (NPC) are conducting human rights education and training for the members of Bulacan Press Club (BPC), personnel from the Provincial Information Office of Bulacan and members of Bulacan Police Provincial Office this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hiyas ng Bulakan Convention Center in Malolos City. CHR Training Specialist Jezzamine Andaquig, said that the objective of the training and education are to highlight the role of the members of the press in the promotion and the protection of human rights; provide guidance on effective human rights training programming for media professionals and journalists; support the development, adoption and implementation of relevant sustainable training strategies and to highlight the importance of enabling environments guaranteeing the protection and safety of media professionals and journalists The training and education with media professionals and journalists in the academe, non-governmental organizations and government organizations is in line with the World Programme for Human Rights Education Phase 3 under the United Nations.
