THE number of deaths recorded in the ongoing battle in Marawi City against the terrorist group of Maute is now close to 700, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said on Sunday.

In a report by Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla, AFP spokesman, it said that three soldiers have been added to the toll since the count was updated on August 5.
