SORSOGON CITY: After a week of being silent, Mount Bulusan spewed ashes on Sunday afternoon, Ed Laguerta, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) resident volcanologist chief in Bicol told The Manila Times.

The explosion took place at around 1:03 in the afternoon. Laguerta said Bulusan Volcano’s explosion was steam-driven and created a 300-meter ash column above the crater.
