A REFERENCE manual on reforestation that the country’s largest geothermal energy producer, the Energy Devel-opment Corp. (EDC), has created could become a useful tool for the National Greening Program (NGP) and other reforestation projects.
According to Ramon Paje, the secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the manual, titled A Field Manual on Forest Reforestation Using Indigenous Species and provides a step-by-step guide to reforestation and forest management practice, serves “as the compass to lead the participants of NGP to effi-ciently achieve the necessary targets that will eventually culminate as another achievement for DENR and its part-ners.” And he thinks that more people can now learn “new and innovative approaches on planting trees” and lead the National Greening Program (NGP) to success.
