Councilor Arnold “Ali” Atienza on Thursday filed his certificate of candidacy for vice mayor of Manila. He was accompanied by Rep. Amado Bagatsing (5th District, Manila), who is running for mayor. The two are running under local party Kabalikat ng Bayan sa Kaunlaran or Kabaka. Atienza is the son of former Manila mayor and now Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza. Meanwhile, Honey Lacuna-Pangan, who will run for vice mayor alongside reelectionist Joseph Estrada, also filed her COC on Thursday. Aside from Bagatsing and Estrada, former mayor Alfredo Lim is also seeking the mayoral post. Lim’s vice mayoral tandem is Rep. Atong Asilo (Tondo, 1st District).
