A five-story building housing several street dwellers in Pasay City collapsed due to the ongoing dredging at the Maricaban Creek or Tripa de Galina on Tuesday evening. Senior Supt. Joel Doria, officer-in charge of Pasay police said no one was hurt as the residents scampered after sensing the structure’s collapse. Ramon Montalba of the Pasay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the building, constructed beside a creek, had been declared condemned and later abandoned due to safety issues.
