TS 'Luis' continues to threaten N. Luzon

Public Warning Signals were raised in more areas in Northern Luzon as Tropical Storm 'Luis' intensified into typhoon category, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) defines typhoon as an intense tropical cyclone with maximum wind speed exceeding 118 kph.
