FILIPINO rising star Michael “The Hammer Fist” Fareñas disposed of Mexican Hector Velazquez in just two rounds via a technical knockout to clinch the World Boxing Council Asia Continental junior lightweight crown on Friday night at The Arena in San Juan City.

After a tight first round, Farenas, 29, shook Velazquez with a right straight on the face. The Mexican tried to counter Farenas’ assault that resulted in a clash of heads.
