The local stock market started the week on a somewhat positive note on latest manufacturing data from China.

“Amid heavy downpour and heightened expectations of flooding, trades opened for the week with the index swinging between gains and losses,” Jun Calaycay, Accord Capital Equities Corp. analyst, said, specifying that the report showing an increase in China’s manufacturing numbers lent optimism to the market.
