TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija: A former barangay captain in La Torre village was arrested on Tuesday for keeping illegal guns and ammunitions. Joint elements of Regional Intelligence Division-Special Operations Task Group and the National Bureau of Investigation in the province aided by K-9 dogs, searched the house of Erwin Chioco to serve a warrant from Judge Richard Paradeza of Branch 72 of the Regional Trial Court of Olangapo City. The raiding team seized one Intratec 9mm machine pistol with empty magazine, one M2 Carbine with empty magazine, a US Carbine with empty magazine, one Norinco .45 with 27 live ammunitions. The former village chief was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and obstruction of justice.
