Digitized books have been around for quite a while. These can be read on PCs or mobile devices after a reading software, which is usually free, is installed. More recently, reading of digitized books has been made popular by the Kindle, iOS and Android platforms. And of course, reading dedicated devices like Kindle, Nook and Kobo are fast gaining popularity due to their verisimilitude to reading on paper.
