Rising boxing star Nonito Donaire Jr.’s second-round stoppage of Fernando Montiel was picked the Knockout of the Year by RingTV.com, the online edition of Ring magazine in cooperation with Yahoo Sports.
The Filipino American unified bantamweight champion got an overwhelming 78.1 percent of votes from boxing fans for his Feb. 19 sensational knockout of Montiel, a pound-for-pound elite champion and one of Mexico’s few three-division. titleholders.
