Gwendoline Ruais made history of sorts when she was declared first runner-up in the 2011 Miss World beauty pageant held in London on Sunday night.
It was the highest finish ever attained by the Philippines in the pageant since 1973, when Evangeline Pascual also got the first runner-up sash.
