Sayoc Filipino martial arts group to hold annual gathering, seminar

SAYOC Kali Philippines, a Filipino martial arts organization is set to hold its second annual gathering dubbed Sayoc Sama Sama Pilipinas 2011 on April 9 and 10, 8 am to 4pm, at the academy’s headquarters in Casa Hacienda, Tejeros Convention, Rosario, Cavite. The yearly event is a tradition started by Grandmaster Baltazar “Bo” Sayoc, the founder of the art. Tuhon Michael Anthony Sayoc, a senior master of the system will be flying home from the United States to conduct a seminar during the event.

Sayoc Kali is an edged weapon-based Filipino combat system, offering a broad curriculum of defense against various bladed weapons. It is a subset of the more encompassing Sayoc Fighting System, which includes stick fighting and unarmed combat. Sayoc Kali was featured in the 2003 American action thriller film The Hunted, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio del Torro.
