Foreign policy in 2010 promoted and protected the national interest abroad, gave full voice to the Philippine experience and advocacies in world and regional forums and provided continuity in a vital field of public service overseen by the Commander-in-Chief across a historic transition in leadership and administration.

Diplomacy rolled up its sleeves to defend thousands of Filipino seafarers and land-based workers overseas, strengthened Philippine security and defense and boosted Filipino trade and investments through negotiations, agreements, representations and lobbying in the US Congress and Asian and European parliaments.
