THE Court of Appeals (CA) has lifted the suspension order of the Office of the Ombudsman against 22 Davao police officers for their failure to solve the more than 300 cases of summary execution allegedly committed by the so-called Davao Death Squad.
The appellate court’s former 16th Division, in a 12-page decision written by Associate Justice Mario Lopez, said that the Ombudsman committed grave abuse of discretion when it ordered the six-month suspension of the accused police officers.
