Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna: Citing reports from the five Police Provincial Offices of Police Regional Office Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Ba¬tangas and Quezon) the just concluded first automated election was generally peaceful and this was attributed to the successful police implementation of Commission on Elections gun ban in this region.
According to Calabarzon director Chief Supt. Rolando Añonuevo, except for the shooting incident involving Bacoor Police and the group of former Rep. Plaridel Abaya which was immediately resolved by the Special Investigation Task Group Bacoor headed by Chief Supt. Aaron Fidel and some isolated incidents in Batangas, the turn out of election is considered to be very peaceful.
