Victoria “Vicki” Manalo Draves passed away early this month, at 85, from pancreatic cancer, aggravated by pneumonia. I learned about her passage early last Tuesday, from Fil-Am San Francisco-based lawyer Jojo Liangco. Vicki was an Olympic diver who won gold medals for the US in both platform and springboard diving in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. She was born in San Fran to a Pinoy father and an English mother. Her parents met and married in San Fran.
