Nepal’s birdlife is among the richest in Asia considering that it is a small country. In total, 862 species have been recorded including 31 globally threatened species. This is because the country has a diversity of habitats, ranging from bare rock and scrub in the alpine zone to tropical rainforests in the lowlands. It also has internationally important wetlands and grasslands.
During my trip to Nepal last month, I had the opportunity to see some of Nepal’s birds, especially the endangered vultures.
