VOTING 9-4-2, the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ruled that incumbent Gov. Joselito “Jon-jon” Mendoza of Bulacan is the rightful winner in the 2007 gubernatorial race against political rival, former Gov. Roberto “Obet” Pagdanganan.
Meanwhile, in a separate decision, the Court en banc resolved with finality the Camarines Norte gubernatorial row, declaring Edgardo Tallado as the real governor. It upheld the resolutions of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) which, among others, had annulled the proclamation of Jesus Typoco as winner in the gubernatorial race in Camarines Norte in the May 14, 2007 elections.
