After winning top accolades in international competitions and once again putting the country in the map of world-class artists and performers, 41 Filipino artists and groups enjoyed a second harvest of recognition—this time, from their own country.

Angel Locsin, Rhap Salazar, Brillante Mendoza, Professor Gemino Abad, the Shirley Halili School of Ballet, and many more were presented with the Ani ng Dangal award by President Gloria Arroyo at the Malacañan Palace in recognition for the artistic excellence they sowed in international arenas from November 2008 to November 2009.
