Toyota Motor Phils. (TMP) announced it has achieved for the eighth straight year a triple crown feat by topping the country’s passenger cars, commercial vehicles and overall industry sales as it posted a record 46,193-unit figure for 2009—the highest it has sold in its 21-year operation. TMP captured 34.9 percent of the local auto market.

Figures released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines also revealed that combined Toyota and Lexus sales reached 4,900 units in December 2009, the companies’ highest monthly sales for the year.
