‘Poll officials can be charged now’

SENATE Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. on Tuesday reiterated that top officials of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) involved in the P1 .3-billion poll automation contract, which has been called the “Comelec modernization scam,” can be charged and prosecuted without being first impeached and found guilty by Congress.

He reiterated his call for the Comelec commissioners’ resignation. “And they should be put in jail for committing a grave criminal offense,” Pimentel said.
