LAOAG CITY:  Department of Environment and Natural Resources regional executive director Victor Ancheta clarified before the Sangguniang Panlungsod that his office did not issue a closure order but only stopped dumping activities in the Laoag City sanitary landfill.

Ancheta said the city government has until February 16, 2006, to correct the technical flaws of the dumpsite, otherwise the department would have it closed.
