Music is in the genes of Coke girl Nikki Gil who was recently signed up by ABS-CBN 2 into a one-year show-biz career management contract. “My dad, who sings and play keyboard, is the vice president for marketing of Security Bank. My mom, who used to sing in church and was once a member of the band that eventually became known as Something Special, is a home-based entrepreneur. My dad is not related at all to Eddie Gil,” says the girl who got her show-biz break from appearing in that commercial in which she goes around while handing out 8-ounce Coke bottles.
Her dad is also related neither to actress Rosemarie Gil nor to Viva Entertainment Group of Companies’ vice president for communications, Baby Gil. “The only famous Gil my dad is related to is the scriptwriter Gina Marissa Tagasa-Gil. It is to her engineer husband that my dad is related to—they are cousins—and not to Gina Marissa herself,” she says. The scriptwriter is actually daughter of TV character actress Mely Tagasa.
