Several Central Luzon-based graduates of the Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) are urging a congressional investigation into the motives behind the plan to change the name of the 78-year-old institution into Malayan College.
The MIT alumni, who are members of the National Alliance of Mapua Alumni (NAMA) and hold sensitive and high positions at the Department of Public Works and Highways and other government and private firms, are seeking the retention of the institutional name of their alma mater.
