CAMP FLORENDO, SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union—Mayor Rogelio Pambid of Marcos, Ilocos Norte, was shot dead in broad daylight on Tuesday as he was refilling his tank at a gasoline station in Barangay Lydia in Marcos, according to reports reaching the Ilocos regional police office.
Two men riding a motorcycle shot Pambid dead at close range in his head and parts of his body as he was refilling the ambulance he was riding at around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, said Senior Supt. Romeo Espiritu, deputy director for operation of the Ilocos regional police office.
