ONLY 1,500 out of 36,146 taxi units managed to have their taximeters calibrated over the weekend for the new flag-down rate of P30 from P25, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said Sunday.
The first day of calibration on Saturday was thought to be disorderly. Taxi drivers and operators blamed the LTFRB for the slow pace of calibration, resulting in hundreds of stalled taxi units along East Avenue in Quezon City.
