If the US government sincerely wants to help the Filipinos whose leaders have perverted the principles of democracy, it should immediately freeze all the assets of the Philippine political and military leaders, stashed away in the US banks and hold these in escrow for the Philippines until such time these unexplained wealth could be legally justified. This policy should apply to past and current presidents, Cabinet members, legislators, national and local officials. It has long been estimated that the cash and assets of Filipinos in the United States is enough to cover our foreign debts.
