6 killed in fresh Indian violence while death toll mounts to 69

GUWAHATI, India—Six people were killed and nine injured Monday in a fresh burst of violence in India's troubled northeast, taking the death toll in three days of rebel attacks to 69 with 210 injured, police said.

Suspected rebels of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) entered a village in Assam state's Sonitpur district, some 180 kilometers from the main city Guwahati, in the early hours of Monday, a senior police official said.
