Former NPA leader shot dead in Fairview mall

A former leader of the Revolutionary Proletariat Army, a splinter group of the New People’s Army, and his daughter’s boyfriend were shot dead at the parking lot of a mall in Fairview, Quezon City early Sunday evening.

Director Avelino Razon, Metro Manila police chief, said the killing of Arturo Tabara and Stephen Ong could be the handiwork of the NPA’s liquidation squad, the Sparrow Unit. The Central Police District Central Intelligence Unit was still gathering evidence to confirm this suspicion, Razon added.
