The Turkish Flour Yeast & Ingredients Promotion Group (TFYI) is asking authorities to investigate this issue disclosed by the Philippine Association of Flour Millers (PAFMIL) for the alleged case of undervaluing and mislabelling of flour brought to the Philippines through the port in General Santos. Turgay Unlu, TFYI Chairman, noted that PAFMIL’s claim is a serious matter that must be backed by solid evidence and addressed through the proper channels. Nevertheless, one isolated and unfounded case does not sanction the group to mar the reputation of other legitimate imported flour exporters and local importers and the entire flour industry. TFYI, an organization of traders that export and promote Turkish products to international markets, will support any investigation that will probe into such a serious matter, he added.
