The Philippine government will not follow the United States’ withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Malacañang said on Thursday, even as President Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly criticized the rights body for supposedly interfering in his war on drugs.

“We are also in the UN Human Rights Council, we are not following suit if that’s the question, the President has no reaction on what the Americans have decided,” Malacañang spokesman Harry Roque Jr. said.
