Two mayors, 10 others facing graft charges |

THE Office of the Ombudsman indicted before the Sandiganbayan 13
local officials including two incumbent provincial mayors for graft
charges.
In the first case, a 12-page resolution was
issued by Ombudsman Ma. Merceditas Navarro-Gutierrez ordering Mayor
Ignacio Taruc and Treasurer Imelda Umoso of Buguey, Cagayan be
charged for Violation of R.A. 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices
Act) for his refusal to pay the salaries of five casual employees
with the total amount of P32,000 in 2007.
