STA. ELENA’S bid for a quarterfinal berth will be
tested Sunday when it takes on Lourdes School-Mandaluyong in the
season 2 of Petron Treats Boys’ Volleyball League at the Arellano
University Gymnasium on Legarda Street in Sampaloc, Manila.
The Marikina-based squad and
Lourdes collide at 10:30 a.m. followed by the encounter between Lipa
Montessori School and Angeles University Foundation at 11:30 a.m.
Sta. Elena enhanced their
quarterfinal chances by beating Hope Christian High School, 25-13,
25-21, in a duel of unbeaten teams on Saturday.
Argie Dacles and Yeshua Manliclic
combined 23 points to lead Sta. Elena into their third-straight win
in Bracket D of the event supported by Shakey’s Pizza, Toby’s
Sports, Dunkin Donuts, Mikasa and Asics. Hope dropped to 3-1.
In other matches, Claret School
squares off against St. Joseph’s College at 8:30 a.m. and Xavier
School and Manuel Roxas High School tangles at 9:30 a.m.
