Subsidiary purchases more shares in Anscor

ANSCOR Consolidated Corp., a fully owned subsidiary of A. Soriano Corp., bought more shares of its parent company.

In a disclosure to the Philippines Stock Exchange, Anscor Consolidated said it purchased 65,000 shares of Anscor at the average price of P2.90 per share.

To date, Anscor Consolidated owns 1.043 million shares of its parent company.

The Soriano family’s holding company also entered into a Deed of Assignment for the sale of almost a fifth of its stake in Phelps Dodge Philippines Inc. to General Cable Co. of Canada last month.

Anscor sold 1.8 million shares of its stock in Phelps, representing 18.34 percent of its stake in the company, for a total purchase price of P641.49 million.

Anscor’s unit in the United States, Cirrus Medical Staffing Inc., has acquired MDI Medical LLC, which provides temporary staffing services of health care professionals in the United States.

Under the purchase agreement, the Anscor unit would acquire all the outstanding membership units in the Georgia limited liability company for $2 million.
