Bush’s
much unfinished business
|
|
WASHINGTON: US President George W. Bush delivers his last State of
the Union speech Monday but no agenda-setting announcements were
expected, with much unfinished business as the fight to succeed him
rages.
With fewer than 12 months left in
his term, the deeply unpopular president is slated to revive a few
bold ideas, such as his May 2007 call to double US funding to battle
AIDS and argue that US-led forces are winning in Iraq.
