DOHA: Australia’s Adam Scott won the $2.5-million
Qatar Masters on Sunday with a score of 20 under-par 268 at the Doha
Golf Club.
Scott thus became the first
player to win the European PGA Tour event twice, having taken the
title first as a 21-year-old in 2002.
He also maintained a
hundred-percent record in Doha, winning the tournament the only two
times he has played here.
The world No.8 won $416,660 and a
BMW as a bonus for smashing the course record after he shot an
11-under-par 61 in the final round.
Henrik Stenson, the 2006 winner,
was the runner-up three shots behind on 271, while South African
Charl Schwartzel finished a further two shots down on 273.
