San Miguel joins motolite eco program

San Miguel Packaging Specialists Inc. (SMPSI) and Oriental and Motolite Marketing Corp. (OMMC) on January 8 signed an agreement in which SMPSI will participate in OMMC’s Balik-Baterya.

At the signing ceremony, SMPSI also turned over 2,940 kilograms of used lead acid batteries for proper disposal and recycling by Motolite. The funds obtained from SMPSI’s participation in the program will be used in its various corporate social responsibility projects.

By collecting the ULABs for recycling and use in the production of new batteries, Motolite contributes to the effort to clear the environment of hazardous wastes.

The Balik-Baterya Program accepts all types and brands of ULABs—car, truck, motorcycle, boat, forklift, uninterruptible power supply.
