Jaguar XF wins UK magazine award

The new Jaguar XF was named Car of the Year at the 2008 What Car? Awards in London. The XF also took Best Executive Car honors.

The XF has already received a host of significant awards including Car of the Year from The Sun, Limo of the Year from Top Gear magazine, Interior of the Year from CAR magazine and the Design Award from Autocar magazine.

“For us, the XF goes straight in there with the very best cars from Jaguar’s past. And given that the car market today is more competitive than it’s ever been, it’s fair to say the XF is the best car Jaguar has ever built, said What Car? Group Editor Steve Fowler.

“The XF really does have it all—a sensational exterior and dramatic interior combined with a drive that will delight and pamper in equal measure,” Fowler said.

For his part, Jaguar Cars Managing Director Mike O’Driscoll said “All of us at Jaguar are delighted that we’ve taken the top spot at these awards, and that What Car? has named the new XF Car of the Year. It’s especially gratifying as What Car? has such a great reputation for representing the British consumer.”

The XF comes with generous specifications, featuring a host of innovative, industry-leading equipment. Highlights include the all-new JaguarDrive Selector, JaguarSense, a smart technical solution introducing touch or proximity-sensing control for overhead console lights and glove box release and the optional top-model 440-watt Bowers & Wilkins speaker system.

The XF, which made its public debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September 2007, can be ordered now. The first customer deliveries begin in March. For more information, call the Philippine distributor Jaguar Cars Inc. at 897-8888 or visit its showroom at the Enzo Building, 399 Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati.
