Hollywood actors came in full force to honor their colleagues at the
14th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. After the abbreviated and
lackluster Golden Globes ceremony, perhaps it was time to bring back
the thrill of giving out and accepting awards.
Golden Globe winners Daniel
Day-Lewis and Julie Christie took home the top individual acting
awards. Day-Lewis got the nod for his brilliant performance in There
Will Be Blood while Christie bagged best lead actress for Away From
Her, reinstating the buzz that she is the actress to beat when the
Oscars are announced next month.
No Country for Old Men took home
several important awards, one for Best Ensemble Cast and another for
Javier Bardem in the Best Supporting Actor category. Ruby Dee was a
surprise winner for Best Supporting Actress for American Gangster.
