The Department of Tourism (DOT), through its attached agency, the Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving (PCSSD), concluded the final leg of consultation of the scuba rules through a three-day Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with veterans from scuba diving industry, and representatives of certifying agencies held in Makati City. The FGD was conducted following the series of public consultations conducted in Batangas, Palawan, Cebu, and Davao. According to PCSSD, this effort was initiated to regulate and streamline the Philippine scuba diving industry and safeguard its progress and development as a key Philippine tourism product which has been identified in the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP).
