Floods affect over 100K residents in Palawan, Oriental Mindoro
THE number of individuals affected by floods triggered by the shear line has breached the 100,000 mark, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Sunday. The NDRRMC said 107,329 residents or 29,528 families in 116 villages in Palawan and Oriental Mindoro were affected. The death toll rose to six. One person was reported missing in Oriental Mindoro. Flood-affected areas in Palawan had been declared under a state of calamity. Meanwhile, some P5,579,892 in assistance had been provided to 25,241 families in Palawan and Oriental Mindoro.
